The Melbourne Cup is Australia’s most famous Thoroughbred horse race, held annually on the first Tuesday in November at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne. Covering 3,200 meters, it’s known as “the race that stops a nation.”
The Caulfield Cup is a prestigious Group 1 handicap thoroughbred horse race held each October at Melbourne’s Caulfield Racecourse. Run over 2,400 m, it attracts elite three-year-olds and older competitors.
